Staff and Residents celebrated Burns Night here at Bishopsgate Lodge on Thursday 25th January.
Our Residents enjoyed a Scottish themed menu throughout the day.
The afternoon included Scottish whisky tasting which went down very well!
Before the evening meal was served 'Haggis, Neeps & Tatties' the haggis was addressed, as per tradition, by our very own Scotsman Jim McKnight.
Jim recited a passage from Robert Burns - "Address to a Haggis" this was an exceptional achievement as Jim has lived with nerve damage which has affected his voice box and speech for many years which in turn prevented him from speaking in public. Jim's speech ended with a round of applause and a few tears from very proud staff.
