Brookdale View take in Blackpool ViewsResidents of HC-One’s Brookdale View care home in Newton Heath were treated to a day out in Sunny Blackpool. Home wellbeing co-ordinator, John Fullen, organised the trip and used Brookdale View’s Personal Minibus (collectively named by residents as “Little Betsy”).

With good weather and great company, all of the Residents had a fantastic time. Fish and Chips, Ice cream and a little stick of Blackpool Rock were the order of the day. Residents perused stalls, shop windows and watched the people playing the gaming machines.

Upon entering the Spectacular Blackpool Tower they navigated their way (Lead by Resident Pearl) to the 4D Cinema Experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Then up the towers main elevator to the top where we were greeted with a Glass Floor. All Residents had a go on the glass and although at first most were apprehensive they all enjoyed the experience.

On the way back to “little Betsy” the Residents enjoyed Buying ice creams, Blackpool Rock and gifts for family and friends.

HC-One, Brookdale View Care Home Manager, Laura Riley said

“I was ecstatic to see the residents out and about especially the ones who don’t frequently go out.”
