Bridport care home hosts Remembrance ServiceHC-One’s The Hyde care home in Bridport honoured Armistice Day on Sunday 11th November by hosting a Remembrance Service for Residents, Relatives and Colleagues.

Members of the local community joined Residents and their loved ones at The Hyde on Sunday 11th November to honour the fallen heroes of World War I. Handmade poppies were on display throughout the home and coverage of Remembrance Day events was shown on TVs.

Reverend Ann Ayling led a beautiful commemorative service and afterwards everyone shared stories of the war. Afternoon tea was served with homemade cupcakes prepared by the Chef at The Hyde followed by a lovely performance from forces sweetheart, Dame Vera Lynn.

Nicky Grinton, The Hyde Home Manager said:

“It was important to our Residents and Colleagues that we marked the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I as well as the contribution of all the British and commonwealth military and civilian service men and women.”

Deborah Flanagan, HC-One Area Director said:

“What a lovely way to honour Armistice Day, memorable activities like this are part of HC-Ones journey to become the kindest care home provider in the UK with the kindest and most professional staff.”
