Bridging the Generation Gap at Nottingham Care HomeResidents at HC-One’s Willow Brook Care Home in Nottingham recently welcome a group of schoolchildren into the home in a bid to bridge generation gaps and create new friendships within the community.

The children from All Hallows Primary School came to read to Residents.

Around thirty year three children visited the home, bringing books with them. They then paired up and spent some time reading to the Residents.

After they read, they sat and had a chat, which the Residents loved.

One Resident said:

"What lovely children, they are fantastic at reading and I can’t wait for them to come back!"

Marie Duke Parker, home manager commented:

“The children were very well behaved and very clever at reading. They were a pleasure to have here and we cannot wait for them to return. Residents light up when the children visit and they love having a chat with them.”

Willow Brook  is located in Burton Road and offers short and long term care to elderly members of the community needing Residential and Residential Dementia Care.
