Bridging the generation gap at Beaconsfield CourtHC-One’s Beaconsfield Court Care Home in Barnard Castle, County Durham bridged the generation gap last week when a group of children visited the Residents.

Beaconsfield Court invited children from the Residents’ and staff’s families to come and join in their arts and crafts session, where they decided to make clay garden decorations and to decorate some cakes.

Residents commented on how much they enjoyed helping the children with the arts and crafts. Due to the children having such great imaginations, it made it a lot of fun for everyone involved.

They all enjoyed eating their lunch together whilst trying out the home’s new Amazon Echo Dot and playing their favourite songs.

In the afternoon, the Residents and children all sat together in the lounge to watch the puppet show. It wasn’t long before the children were all up dancing along to the songs and trying out the puppets for themselves, much to the Residents amusement.

A great day was had by all, with both the Residents and children asking when they can do it again.
