A golf-loving Resident at HC-One’s Branston Court Care Home, in Burton-on-Trent, has been enjoying testing his swing in the care home garden each morning.
Dave Kettle, who lives at the 45-bed care home which offers nursing and dementia care, enjoys nothing better than heading out into the grounds each morning with his irons and golf balls for a gentle practise.
Colleagues at Branston Court are always exploring new and creative ways of expanding activities for Residents to deliver the kindest possible care. Gentle physical exercise like golf, especially taken outside, can have huge benefits for health and mental wellbeing.
Home Manager, Pauline Gardiner, said: “It is fantastic that Dave is still able to continue to pursue his love of golf even though he is in a 24-hour care environment. He loves playing and it is a real joy to be able to facilitate this activity for him. His family are delighted.”
