Braintree care home Residents enjoy animal interactionHC-One’s Larchwood care home Residents enjoyed an afternoon encounter with some new creatures in the lead up to Halloween.

The animals included a tarantula, ferret and a budgie, offering a variety of textures for Residents to hold and feel, whilst they also learned many facts about the animals.

Residents jokingly remarked at how they preferred all of the animals apart from the tarantula, and praised themselves on how brave they were for holding the creatures.

Jade Smith, home manager, commented: “It’s wonderful to see the Residents interacting with the animals so well, even the ones they were unsure about touching, activities like this are great for improving the confidence of our Residents and giving them the opportunity to try new things.”
