Bradpole care home’s festival brings community together to celebrate autumnA harvest festival held at HC-One’s St James’ Park in Bradpole helped Residents to meet new people, make new friends and have meaningful moments in the company of others.

The event was also in support of Silver Sunday, which helps combat loneliness within the community and helps to increase happiness and wellbeing.

St James’ Park welcomed members of the local community to mark the start of the autumn season on Friday 5th October. The home hosted a range of harvest-themed activities including a live performance from a local accordion player and a harvest service performed by Revd Janis Moore from Holy Trinity in Bradpole.

Jenny Fiendly, Kitchen Assistant at St James’ Park kindly prepared a centrepiece for the harvest table made out of salt dough, everyone admired her beautiful creation with Resident’s commenting that it looked good enough to eat.

Residents, Relatives and staff donated food items and distributed the harvest collection to local food banks and Bridport Community Fridge.

Claire Hart, Home Manager at St James’ Park said:

“Combining Silver Sunday and Harvest festival gave Residents the opportunity to get to know people in the community and to build relationships with each other.

“The event was a great success and we were so pleased to be able to donate valuable food to our neighbours.”
