Throughout this month at
Hinckley Park, which provides residential and nursing care, Colleagues and Residents have been celebrating Black History Month.
Hinckley Park put a big emphasis on making sure all Colleagues feel welcomed and special, and absolutely love a reason to celebrate each other and their hard work. Colleagues go through all the highs and lows together, support one another and lift each other up. For a Friday in October, Colleagues put aside their usual working uniforms and all wore some beautiful and bright clothes (shown in the photo above).
Residents and Colleagues also came together and enjoyed a meal of Caribbean inspired foods, prepared by their wonderful kitchen team.
One Colleague said, “We are blessed to have Colleagues from so many African nations, Black History Month is very sacred and close to our hearts”. Whilst another highlighted the togetherness all the staff have with each other “We’re a family, albeit from every corner of the planet, and to celebrate our different cultures is a joy”.
Karen, the Home Manager also had lots of praise for the staff by saying, “It was so lovely to see everybody come together and enjoy the Caribbean inspired meal. Everybody here is so hardworking and have stuck together through a lot”.
