Residents at Bishopsgate Lodge care home in Bishop Auckland were delighted to welcome students from Etherley Lane Nursery to the home.
The children turned up to the home with boxes full of toys and books, which instantly lit up the Residents’ faces.
Although many of the children were shy at first, it was not long before the Residents and children were chatting to each other like they had known each other for years.
Betty Crone, a Resident at the home, commented: “I really enjoyed the day. I’ve never had any children of my own, but U have loved joining in with the activities with the nursery.”
Sarah Rigby, Home Manager at Bishopsgate Lodge, said: “This has been a fabulous start to some great friendships between our Residents and the children. Everyone at Bishopsgate Lodge could not stop smiling after the visit.”
