Two Colleagues at HC-One’s
Eden House care residential and residential memory care home, in County Durham, are delighted to have reached the final in the Great British Care Awards.
Home Manager, Emma Wade, nominated a number of Colleagues for different awards due to their dedication to the Residents over the past two years, especially throughout the pandemic.
Two of the nominations have reached the final of the awards and have been asked to attend an event at Gosforth Park on the 24th November.
Fiona Inman, Senior Carer at Eden House is a finalist in The Care Home Worker Award Category. She has been recognised for the significant role she plays at Eden House providing a high-quality standard of care to Residents at the home. She shows dedication and ambition to progress with her career development and training.
Carole Allen, Head Housekeeper is also a finalist in The Social Care COVID Hero Award Category. Carole has been shortlisted for this special award as she has demonstrated that she has gone above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic and crisis. She shows creativity, innovation and is flexible with her approach. Carole has shown selflessness, dedication and commitment to maintaining and ensuring the safety of others, whilst also keeping in mind and taking care of the physical and emotional wellbeing of fellow Colleagues, Residents and their loved ones.
Final interviews are scheduled to take place on the 1st November.
Although the interviews have not taken place yet the Manger announced the finalists to the Residents and they all cheered and gave a round of applause.
A party has been arranged with the Residents for the day before to celebrate their achievement.
Emma commented, “I am extremely proud of the whole staff team at Eden House and it is lovely to be recognised for the hard work that everyone has done.”
