Birds of Prey come to St James ParkResidents were delighted at St James Park residential and nursing care home, In Bradpole, when they were able to get up close to birds of prey during a recent visit from Xtreme Falconry.

The group at the home, including Mona, Joan, Barbara, Bob, Caryn, Evelyn, Pamela and Gwen, enjoyed a visit from the beautiful animals on 16th May, where they were able to get up close to the birds and hear some interesting facts.

The home’s wellbeing team, including Michaela, organised the session with the aim of improving the wellbeing and care experiences of the Residents.

Joan commented that she loved the three-week-old baby owls and the giant Eagle Owl, “Look at those little balls of fluff! Aren’t they lovely!”

Fellow Resident Mona found the talk on birds and their behaviour very interesting and took notes during the session, “I want to tell my friends and family all about it”

Mihaela Barbulescu, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was very nice to see the   residents engaging very well in this session. Mona took notes all the time and is happy to share with her friends on regular Zoom chats. Big thanks to Michaela, she managed again to put a big smile on Residents’ faces.”
