Bingo and other games at Woodlands ViewThis month at Woodlands View in Stevenage, which provides nursing and dementia care, Residents have been enjoying a couple rounds of bingo and other games.

Due to the current refurbishment going on at Newton House, which is where the activity room is located, Colleagues and Residents are coming up with alternative ways to continue with the group activities. Three Residents had said they would like to try Bingo and Amy, a Resident at Woodlands View suggested they could use her room for it. Karen, one of the Residents who attended the bingo afternoon said, “It was lovely to catch up and play a couple rounds of bingo, it was like visiting a neighbour!” and Amy added, “It’s so nice to have visitors, especially when bingo is involved”.

Later in the day, the Wellbeing Coordinator also went and visited Mavis, another Resident, and read her favourite book to her, “The Wind in the Willow”. Kathleen, another Resident has enjoyed an afternoon of quizzes with the Wellbeing Coordinators and some friends. The quizzes were based on food and drink from around the world. She went on to say, “It was a good quiz and a bit harder than the others, but I am already looking forward to the next one”.

Deby, the Home Manager said, “I’m happy to see Residents are finding ways to work around for temporarily not having their activities room”.
