Residents from HC-One’s Greenways Court Care Home in Consett, County Durham attended Corals Bookmakers in Annfield Plain Stanley to play bingo earlier this month.
Wellbeing Co-Ordinator, Helen Wallace, and Home Manager, Tina Ayton, planned a day out with a difference for the Residents, with help from Corals Shop Manager, Lisa Blake.
Lisa organised a nice cuppa and snacks for everyone to enjoy whilst they were playing bingo and everyone had a great day.
A lucky few were delighted to win and flashed their winnings for the camera. To finish off the day, everyone enjoyed a fish and chip tea from McGuires Chip Shop at Rowlands Gill Park.
Resident Sheila commented:
“I’ve never been in a bookies before, my family will be shocked! It was such a great day and we all had plenty of laughs.”
Greenways Court’s Home Manager, Tiny Ayton commented:
“We wanted to be the first care home in Derwent side to try this and give Residents something out of the ordinary. It was a very positive experience and one that was enjoyed by all.”
