Residents at Bankwood care home in Belper were delighted to receive a visit from a festive furry friend, George the reindeer.
Everyone was delighted to welcome George to Bankwood, as he paid a special visit to lounges and Residents’ rooms for those who wished to meet him.
As George took a walk around the home, Residents enjoyed stroking him and learning more about his diet, natural habitat and the background behind reindeers being a symbol of Christmas.
One Resident commented: “George is beautiful, I wish I could keep him!”
Izeta Hamza, Home Manager at Bankwood, said: “Animal therapy is one of the most popular activities amongst our Residents here at Bankwood. George’s visit certainly went down well with everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.”
