Students from Belle Vale Fire Station kindly chose to support Moss View Care Home by making Halloween themed bird feeders and carving pumpkins for the Residents to enjoy.
After this project, the students will start focussing on gaining new skills to succeed in the work place before they move on to thinking about the next steps in their career or education.
Students from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service from Belle Vale were taking part in the Community Project aspect of the programme, which involves thinking about other people in their community and how they can support them.
Lesley Nolan, Wellbeing Coordinator said, “We were delighted to receive the bird feeders and the fabulous pumpkins. Each pumpkin is so unique. They put a smile on the faces of the Residents and Colleagues. We are looking forward to working with the Prince’s Trust again.”
Residents felt honoured that Belle Vale Fire Station and the students had chosen Moss view to be the recipients of their lovely pumpkins and bird feeders.
Joan Walmsley, who is a Resident at Moss View, mentioned how well the students had carved the pumpkins. Joan said, “They look scary but nice.”
Maria, team leader of the project, kindly offered future support for Moss View if needed. Maria said, “If we can bring a smile to the faces of your Residents and staff in this difficult time then we would be happy to get involved.”
Sam Cooper, who is a Healthcare Assistant, pictured, commented, “It is so thoughtful of them to think of us.”
