Beeston care home worker puts best foot forward to support local dementia charitySarah Willsher, Wellbeing Coordinator at HC-One’s Silverwood care home in Beeston, Nottingham took part in an organised walk to raise money for local dementia charity, Bloomin Dementia.

The walk, organised by Bloomin Dementia aims to raise vital funds to support the charity while raising awareness of how dementia impacts the lives of so many people. Sarah joined a group of over sixty volunteers at Forest Recreation Ground and headed to the streets with money buckets encouraging the public to donate.

Everyone was in high spirits, wearing colourful hats, t-shirts and other items as they walked through the streets. In total, the group raised over £6000 for Bloomin Dementia, which will be used to fund the variety of support groups, workshops and other services that the charity provides for people in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas affected by dementia.

Debra Meynell, Home Manager at Silverwood said: “Well done to Sarah and all of the other wonderful people who have helped to raise such an impressive amount of money for such a worthwhile cause.”
