HC-One’s Beaconsfield Court Care Home in Barnard Castle, County Durham, welcomed the newest member of the team this week, one-month-old Maisie, who was born on 16th October weighing 7lb 5.
Maisie’s parents, Kitchen Assistant Kayleigh Howe and Assistant Cook Miles Purchese, met at work before their relationship blossomed.
Kayleigh’s daughter, 6-year-old Mia, absolutely adores her baby sister and was present at the birth to be a comforting support for her mum.
The birth itself was a bit unconventional, as Kayleigh delivered Maisie on her mum’s living room floor and due to the haste of the birth; Miles unfortunately missed the actual event but still made it in time to cut the baby’s cord.
Kayleigh’s mum is also a Care Assistant at Beaconsfield Court.
All of the Residents were thrilled to meet baby Maisie and congratulated both Kayleigh and Miles on their new arrival.
