Today at
Bankwood care home in Derbyshire, which offers residential and nursing care, hosted a Hawaii themed barbeque.
Bankwood staff and Residents had a fantastic day and really enjoyed the theme being Hawaii, although the weather certainly wasn’t Hawaiian! Even though they had to move the barbeque to inside once the heavens had opened, this did little to dampen the spirit of those in attendance.
Lisa the home’s chef, has been grilling some barbeque sausages, burgers and offered different salads and a mocktail pina colada.
Everybody at the home had got their bright shirts on and it was looking very colourful around the place. An entertainer had been arranged to do some performances and was well received by the Residents, with one saying, “She was an amazing singer”. She was fortunate enough to have been able to perform before the rain came.
Sarah the Deputy Manager had said “It was an amazing day, but just a pity about the weather” but went on to say they would certainly do it again.
