Bar staff raise a glass for local care home ResidentsA generous barmaid at a Glasgow pub raised £400 for Residents at HC-One’s Greenfield Park care home after taking part in Sober October.

Nancy from Westburn Bar in Carntyne took part in the annual event, which encourages people to go alcohol free for the 31 days of October, in order to pay for residents to take part in an array of activities out in the community.

Robert Murray, Greenfield Park’s HC-One Senior Care Home Manager, commented: “We’re extremely grateful to Nancy at Westburn Bar for contributing to our residents fund and I think it goes to show what a generous and close knit community we have here in Carntyne."

“We are an active bunch here at Greenfield Park and so we’re really looking forward to getting out in the minibus to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in which we live.”

The money raised has already been used to take residents out to the Pantomine and more day trips are lined up over the coming weeks.
