Residents at HC-One’s Bankwood care home in Belper, Derbyshire, have celebrated the coronation of Kings Charles III in style.
Relatives joined Residents at the 40-bed care home to enjoy a garden party and fabulous barbecue in the glorious sunshine.
The week leading up to the garden party had seen the care home engaged in a hive of activity, as Residents and Colleagues decorated communal areas with union flags and bunting. There were further themed activities throughout the week, including crown making and other red, white and blue art and craft work.
There was also plenty of live entertainment to get Residents in the party mood, with a coronation themed show provided by a local company at the start of the week while a singing duo popped in on Thursday.
Following the garden party, the Residents came together and enjoyed watching the Kings Coronation on the Saturday.
The week of celebrations was a big hit with the Residents, with one commenting: “I really enjoyed chatting to my family, celebrating with other Residents and soaking up the atmosphere of the day. The home looked lovely with the decorations!”
Home Manager Izeta Hamza said: “I really want to say thank you to my team for working together and providing a lovely afternoon for our Residents - and we got so lucky with the weather! What a wonderful way to celebrate an historic moment in our country’s history”.
