“Baby girl” doll brings comfort to Memory Care ResidentHC-One’s Park House Care Home in Guisborough, Cleveland enables Resident to fulfil her maternal instinct.
Many Residents on the Memory Care Unit at Park House still have a strong mothering instinct and express this regularly to the staff.

Resident Betty Backhouse is a really positive lady, she is forever smiling and always has something nice to say. She loves it when Residents great grandchildren come in to visit; it really brightens up her day.

A member of the care team decided to try a little Doll Therapy with Betty, which she took to straight away. She nurtured her “baby girl” straight away and was happy and content to have her sitting on her lap.

Betty’s daughter Jean was delighted to see her mum so happy and loved the photograph that the home took, asking for a copy for herself.

Park House are going to roll this initiative out shortly to other Residents within the Memory Care Unit.
