Residents at
Augustus Court, residential care home, in Leeds, have really enjoyed their Easter.
As part of the Living Eggs UK, the Residents have enjoyed hatching nine baby chicks over the Easter weekend. The Residents have watched the chicks and hatch over the past fortnight and over the Easter weekend.
The eggs arrive and the Residents would check each day to see if any of the shells had cracks.
The chicks hatched between Wednesday and Friday. In the first few days the chicks were moving around in their brooder book and the Residents has a chance to hold and pet the chicks.
Now the chicks have all grown up they have been re-located to one of the other volunteer homes, but the Residents will be getting regular updates and images to see how they have grown!
One Resident, commented, “Wow it is amazing to watch them grow so quickly!”
Julia Davison, Care Home Manager, added, “The Residents have loved watching the chicks grow and change the past fortnight and are happy to know where they are going.”
