Averill House welcome unusual Guests from ZoolabResidents and Care Colleagues at HC-One’s Averill House in Manchester welcomed a menagerie of exotic creatures from Zoolab.

The Zoo Lab representatives have a lovely relationship with the Residents and took the animals around the room giving each Resident the opportunity to touch and hold them. All the residents were keen to get involved and really enjoyed holding the unusual creatures.

The snake was by far the most popular creature with many of the Residents having a hold.

Resident May said she loved the baby rats and wanted to keep them.

The visit from the Zoo lab is a really enjoyable and therapeutic experience for the Residents and they are looking forward to a future visit from the Zoo lab.

HC-One’s Averill House Care Home Manager, Lesley Nosworthy, said:

“It is great to have such an unusual activity at Averill House, and we are definitely keen for Zoo Lab to visit us again.”

“The Residents had a brilliant time with all the animals, and it was lovely that they all got involved with the activity.”
