Averill House introduces comforting wellbeing initiative for ResidentsAverill House care home in Newton Heath has introduced a new initiative to enhance the wellbeing of Residents living at the home.

Residents at Averill House have received some new empathy dolls, a technique known to provide comfort and enhance wellbeing for people living with dementia.

Each Resident was given the opportunity to choose their doll and the knitted clothing and blankets to dress them with.

Rosemary Horsfield, Home Manager at Averill House, said: “It’s really heart-warming to see a real connection being made between the Residents and their empathy dolls. They have already proven to be a great success in enhancing wellbeing for Residents at Averill House.”
