Avalon Park proves that romance is still alive on Valentine’s DayResidents at Avalon Park in Oldham have proved that romance is still alive as they celebrated Valentine’s Day with their loved ones.

Two couples at the home decided to mark the day of love with a special candlelit dinner, where they reminisced on the years they have spent together over a hearty plate of fish and chips.

The couples included Frank and Annie, who have been married 70 years, and Terry and Doreen, who have been married 60 years.

Terry, who was over the moon to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his wife, said: “Doreen has been a good wife to me and is the love of my life. We’ve never done anything like this before, and I couldn’t have done it without the team at Avalon Park.”

Another Resident commented: “I love my wife so much, I’ve had the perfect day with her today.”

Renu Kataria, Home Manager at Avalon Park, said: “Valentine’s Day has been a great success in our home and the team have made me very proud. The celebratory meal was perfect, and seeing our Residents so happy has made the day all the more special.”
