This week at residential memory care, nursing and nursing memory care home,
Ashton View, in Ashton-in-Makerfield, there has been plenty of activities going on, including a special karaoke session as well as canvas crafts colouring!
On Thursday, Colleagues visited each community to do some canvas crafts. There was a selection of plain and patterned canvasses for Residents to choose from so that they could paint and colour to their own tastes.
Kathleen, who lives at Ashton View, really enjoyed the one to one time and had a good chat with Colleagues about future crafts and interests, she asked if she could do more dolphin canvases for her bedroom.
Gary Grimes, on the wellbeing team, commented, “I enjoyed the little stories from Kathleen and told her we will be back with more canvases for her!”
Today, on the Pilling Community, a singalong was held with everyone’s favourite songs!
There were drinks and snacks, as well as plenty of dancing and singing. Residents clapped along, kicked their legs out and got up to shake their hips.
Alice, a Resident at the home, loved moving her legs to the Can-Can!
Fellow Resident, Doreen, enjoyed clapping along to ‘Tom Jones’ whilst Kathleen got up to dance with Carer, Gaynor.
Gary sand along on the karaoke, which Residents really enjoyed. Colleagues are now calling it, ‘Gary-oke!”
