A "gesture of kindness" was received by residents and colleagues at
HC-One’s Kings Park care home, in Hurst Cross, Ashton-under-Lyne, after an assortment of biscuits was delivered during National Biscuit Day.
National Biscuit Day, which is celebrated every year on Wednesday, May 29, is a firm favourite for residents at the dementia care home. Residents love nothing more than a biscuit to dunk in their tea and share a love of the different varieties that are on offer during afternoon tea at the care home.
Representative Cath, from Hill Biscuits Ltd based in Ashton-under-Lyne, contacted the home to deliver a selection of biscuits for residents and colleagues to enjoy during the special day. The assortment of treats which were delivered to the home included digestives, bourbons, nice biscuits and finger biscuits.
The biscuits were subsequently laid out for everyone to help themselves to throughout the afternoon. Residents enjoyed the sweet treats with tea and coffee.
Anna Phillips, Home Manager at Kings Park care home, said:
“Everyone at our care home was so delighted to receive such a lovely gesture of kindness from the local-based business. It is just so nice to be thought of!”
Janet, who lives at Kings Park care home, stated:
“There is nothing as good as a biscuit and a brew!”
