Art connoisseur Residents visit Fitzwilliam MuseumHC-One’s The Cambridge care home in Chesterton, Cambridge organised for art and culture enthusiast Residents to visit the Fitzwilliam Museum in November.

Several Residents at The Cambridge are lovers of all things to do with art and culture, so much so, that the Wellbeing team organised a monthly ‘Exhibition on Screen’, where Residents watch documentary films about famous artists including Manet, Cezanne and Vincent Van Gogh.

As a special trip the team organised a visit to the Fitzwilliam Museum, the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge. On the day, four Residents spent the afternoon touring the museum, admiring all of the beautiful paintings, sculptures, ceramics and pieces on display.

After Residents were done exploring they headed the museum café where they enjoyed a slice of cake and cup of tea as they shared their thoughts about the amazing art they had seen.

Jeanine, a Resident at The Cambridge commented:

“It is a very interesting place, I loved it. It was just as I had imagined and at the end of our visit I thought to myself ‘I am so happy to finally be here’.”

Another Resident, Doris said:

“I haven’t been here for many years and I am pleased to be back. My Granddaughter loves the Fitzwilliam Museum and all of the of the wonderful paintings in this lovely space.”
