Arnold care home colleagues and relatives complete Dementia Challenge 62K Walk with Dogs for Dementi

Residents, relatives and colleagues at HC-One’s Coppice Lodge Care Home, in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, participated in a tail-wagging, heartwarming day of community spirit after completing the Dementia Challenge 62K Walk with Dogs for Dementia.

On Saturday, March 15, colleagues, residents, friends, families, and local community members laced up their walking shoes – and leashed up their furry friends – for a gentle stroll through the scenic Gedling Country Park in Nottinghamshire. This was a special event to raise vital funds for Dementia UK, with participants making a paws-itive impact.

The event started at 10.30am, where attendees brought their own pooch, borrowed a four-legged companion, or simply joined in without a canine. The challenge was designed with the goal of making a difference for those affected by dementia.

A dedicated fundraising page has been set up to make it easy for supporters near and far to contribute to this worthy cause. Excitement ran high for those involved from Coppice Lodge, as residents and colleagues were eager to hit the trail.

Leading the charge were Natalie Lowe, Coppice Lodge Care Manager, Ken Buxton, Care Home Manager, Karen Salmon, Care Assistant, and Angela Allen, Front of House Manager.

Natalie Lowe, HC-One’s Coppice Lodge Care Manager, said:

“This is more than just a walk – it’s a chance for our residents, staff, and community to unite for something truly meaningful. It was great to see everyone out there, with or without a dog, raising money and spreading awareness for Dementia UK.”
