April fools at Essex care homeResidents at The Hornchurch enjoyed some playful April fools fun as a morning was spent filled with dancing and music.

Relatives joined in as they read out some amusing poems, and were able to share various anecdotes with the Residents, as Colleagues wore long ‘Pinocchio’ noses to add to the enjoyment, which was a definite hit with the Residents.

The light-hearted atmosphere left everyone laughing and enjoying themselves as they shared various refreshments, and delightful treats such as cakes and snacks.

One Relative stated: “this was such a unique morning and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am so pleased to have seen my mum laughing with everyone.”

An activity such as this one has also been helpful to the Residents wellbeing as Tania Banner, Home Manager, also commented: “this type of activity is enjoyed by all and it’s useful for Residents as it helps them with maintaining or enhancing their cognitive ability, whilst also making them happy and laugh.”

Sounds like a very funny afternoon!
