Anyone for croquet? The Mad Hatters tea party comes to Greengables care homeResidents at Greengables care home were treated to a rather quirky tea party where the mad hatter and his friend Alice made an appearance equipped with games and treats for everyone at the home.

The tea party was like no other with a range of party games including Queen of Hearts croquet (don’t worry, we didn’t use real flamingos!) And of course the classics such as ‘Play Your Cards Right’ and ‘Pass the Parcel’. Congratulations are in order for Resident Audrey Ford, who won and was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which she was simply over the moon with.

Activity Coordinator,  Lesley Tait even dressed up as Alice in Wonderland and Residents could also have their turn of playing the famous Mad Hatter from the classic Lewis Carroll book with a curly orange wig and top hat.

Following on from the activity, Residents stuck with the theme and tucked into some fancy cakes and a chilled glass of bubbling prosecco; the battenburg cake, in particular,  went down incredibly well.

One Resident remarked, “What a wonderful afternoon, we had such a good time having lots of fun.”

Anne Winstanley, Greengables Care Home Manager, said, “The event was wonderfully planned and promoted. Everyone helped to make this a huge success and the day was enjoyed by Residents and staff alike. We can’t wait for the next one!”
