Animal therapy fun at Ilford care homeResidents got to spend the day with lots of different animals at HC One’s Seabrooke Manor care home today.
At 11am the Wild Science group visited the Ilford care home with plenty of reptiles and other animals to showcase to the Residents.

There were 6 types of reptiles including a snake and a gecko. There was also a tree frog, plus a hedgehog, two different types of rabbits and more.

Many of the Residents took part in stroking and cuddling the animals; they really wanted to interact with them.

This animal therapy session is meant to reduce anxiety, as well as other negative psychological symptoms. The Residents were really excited to be with the animals and had fun together.

One of the Residents commented “I would like to do this very often, it makes me feel comfortable and active.”
