Angus care home host St Andrew’s Day celebrationsResidents at HC-One’s Finavon Court Care Home in Forfar, Angus, flew the Scottish flag with pride as they celebrated St Andrew’s Day with a lovely afternoon of traditional music and dance.

The home threw a Scottish celebration on Friday 30th November enabling Residents, families and the community to come together to enjoy the National day.

In true patriotic fashion, Residents and staff wore their favourite or family’s tartan including hats, kilts and scarves, whilst enjoying a traditional meal of haggis, neeps and tatties, prepared by the head chef. Visitors enjoyed a host of exciting activities including Scottish country dancers and an accordionist.

Residents enjoyed the traditional music provided and some even got up and joined in with the dancing, whilst the rest tapped their feet and clapped their hands along to the music.

Suzanne Wilson, Home Manager at Finavon Court, commented:

“It is very important for us to respect and encourage traditions and we knew a day of importance, such as this for our Scottish Residents, was worthy of a celebration.

“The celebration was enjoyable for everyone that attended and the Residents particularly enjoyed welcoming guests into their home.”
