All aboard! Residents enjoy Marple to Poynton barge tripResidents from HC-One’s Beeches care home in Tameside travelled to Marple Lock for a day of sailing on a barge.

This is the second barge trip Beeches has organised, the trips are proving to be a very popular choice with the Residents.

Everyone boarded the barge and sat up top to take in the passing scenery as they watched the world go by. Residents commented on how peaceful and relaxing it was to sail down the canal.

The three-hour trip allowed plenty of time for everyone to feed the ducks, share stories and even come up with names for barges if they were to own one. Afterwards, Residents enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by an ice cream.

Nellie, a Resident at Beeches commented:

“What a lovely day I have had it has been so nice and relaxing and I have talked too much it; must be the fresh air.”
