Residents from Douglas View care home in Hamilton – part of HC-One, the kind care company – enjoyed a Seagull Trust barge trip to Kirkintillock on Tuesday 20th August.
A group of Residents enjoyed an afternoon of peace and tranquillity on the canal where they admired the scenery and wildlife as they sailed to Kirkintillock. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch and shared stories fond memories of boat and canal trips they have experienced in the past.
For one Resident, who was part of the Merchant Navy in his younger days, the trip brought lots of happy memories and he was treated to the opportunity to assist with guiding the barge down the canal.
A great time was had by all, one Resident, Denis Doyle commented: “What a great day, so relaxing and different.”
