Afternoon of singing in the sun at Gateshead care homeResidents at HC-One’s Springfield House care home in Low Fell, Gateshead, have been making the most of the beautiful summer sunshine with a special treat from a local singer.

During the early days of last year’s lockdown, a very special local singer, Wor Vera, who had lost all of her contracted work decided to visit 75 care homes within the area to sing in their gardens, car parks and streets to commemorate the 75th VE Day- for free. At the time, Wor Vera managed to beat that by doing over 100 care homes in total!

However, this Thursday, staff and Residents at Springfield House had the enormous pleasure of hosting Wor Vera on a beautiful sunny afternoon in their stunning garden.

Residents and staff were treated to a fabulous compilation of 40’s, 50’s & 60’s hits, which they all sang and danced along to, with some songs even bringing some a few tears.

The Residents loved the whole afternoon, the company, the singing dancing and memories it brought back to them.

Located on Durham Road, Springfield House offers short and long term care for older ladies and gentlemen in Gateshead that require residential care and residential memory care for those living with dementia.
