Act of kindness brings Christmas cheer to Bankwood ResidentsResidents at Bankwood care home in Belper were delighted to receive a special Christmas gift from a young girl living in the local area, Erin.

Erin asked her mother one day if she could use her pocket money to put together some boxes of Christmas presents for the elderly. Her mum agreed, and shortly after, Erin’s friends decided to get involved.  With the help of their families, they began collecting different items that they thought the Residents would enjoy.

Residents in the home were presented with a personalised gift box from Erin just in time for Christmas, which consisted of sweets, chocolates, toiletries and socks.

One Resident commented: “I am completely astounded that such thought and kindness can come from so many people at such a young age. Thank you so much.”

Izeta Hamza, Home Manager at Bankwood, said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to Erin and her friends for such a kind gesture. Our Residents really appreciated the kind gifts from Erin and her friends.”
