Residents at Acacia Lodge care home marked the annual Royal Ascot in style by making themselves look and feel like royalty themselves. From fancy hats to indulging in a sophisticated afternoon tea, it was a brilliant day for everyone involved.
In the week leading up to the big event, Residents kept busy by making and decorating their own elaborate hats to wear. From flowers to feathers, everyone loved setting their own trend.
On the day of the races, Residents enjoyed an afternoon tea with fresh strawberry scones, jam and cream, as well as a luxury glass of prosecco whilst watching Ascot on the television. The event also consisted of a quiz to complete; centred on the history of Royal Ascot. Many Residents were very surprised at some of the facts that they didn’t know already.
One Resident commented, “What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, it made a nice change.”
