A visit to Crosby beach for care home Residents
Residents of HC-One’s Daneside Court, in Northwich recently enjoyed an outing to Crosby Beach in Liverpool where they started their afternoon off with a Picnic lunch freshly prepared by the homes chef on the sea front.
After relaxing in the fresh air and taking advantage of the dry weather, Residents who had taken time prior to their trip in researching Crosby Beach and its Iron Men took a short stroll along the beach.

Even though the weather stayed dry, it was a little windy and Residents bundled up to keep the chill at bay whilst they took in the ‘Another Place’ art installation by the renowned Antony Gormley.

This spectacular art installation of 100 cast iron, life size figures stretch across the three kilometres of foreshore and stretch almost one kilometre out to see.  Each one weighing 650 kilos are made from the artists own body stand on the beach, all looking out to see, staring at the horizon in silent expectation are a wonder to see.

Everyone had a lovely time!

Home Manager, Joanne Farrell, commented:

“The visit was such a fantastic experience as many of our Residents have visited this coastline for their own summer holidays and were delighted to return to the area.  We always enjoy organising fun trips for our Residents and were so pleased that they had such an enjoyable time.”
