Nora Mullen, a Resident at
Springfield House care home in Gateshead was thrilled to watch her granddaughters wedding virtually when she tied the knot in Ireland.
As Nora was unable to make the trip to Ireland her daughter had arranged for a facetime to be set up so she could watch the whole wedding ceremony.
Pauline, a Care Assistant at the 69-bed residential and residential dementia care home, helped Nora get ready and got her a lovely hat. She looked beautiful.
The team at Springfield House provided a lovely set up with the bride and grooms name printed out, some flowers and a lovely bottle of fizz.
Nora had a brilliant time watching the wedding it was very enjoyable but also quite emotional for her. The tissues came in very handy.
The bride and groom were delighted Nora was able to watch all the way from Gateshead and everyone kept waving at her through the camera.
It was a pleasure for the staff to help Nora with this arrangement – especially as she had such a lovely day.
Nora, said, “Thank you so much for your help setting this up! I had a great day. It is amazing what technology can do now!”
John Cairnes, Care Home Manager, commented, “Nora looked great! The hat was such a nice touch. I am please she enjoyed her day.”
