A very merry Christmas at Mossley care homeEveryone at HC-One’s Sandon House care home, in Mossley, Tameside, got into the Christmas spirit at their annual party which took place on 20th December, as well as a visit from the local football team too!

Colleagues and Residents dressed up and enjoyed a good old sing song for the home's annual party.

Wellbeing Coordinator, Louise Schofield, joined in with the entertainment too and sang a duet with the entertainer that the home booked (see pictured left).

The kitchen team organised a selection of drinks which were available, including snowballs, wine and sherry.

After the fun had relaxed, everyone enjoyed a fabulous buffet tea, then settled down to watch a Christmas movie.

Madge, who lives at the 42-bed residential and residential dementia care home, said, “I’ve had a really good day. I even got up dancing!”

Following on this month, even more exciting things have been happening for Residents at Sandon House when a few of the players from the Mossley under 11's football team visited the home and brought lots of lovely gifts for the Residents for the festive period.

They received chocolates and toiletries; the Residents got stuck into the chocolates straight away! The children interacted with the Residents and they played skittles too with Resident Winnie joining in

Hilda, who lives at Sandon, commented, “I love it when the children come to see us. It really cheers me up.”

Wellbeing Coordinator Louise remarked, “We have such a good connection with the community. It's lovely to invite them into the home!”
