A “Twilight” Encounter for Moat House Residents
Residents and Colleagues of The Moat House Care home in Essex enjoyed a visit from some unusual feathered friends this week.
Twilight, a Barn Owl and Worzell the African Eagle Owl visited the home with their handler and Residents were eager to stroke the majestic creatures and learn more about their welfare.
Handler Brenda showed off some of the birds skills and Residents loved when Worzell flew onto the curtain rails above everyone’s heads.

Resident Maud said:

“It made my day, I absolutely loves Owls.”

Resident Joyce agreed:

“I didn’t realise how soft their feathers are.”

Deputy Home Manager, Helena Holden commented:

“The owls were magnificent and it was amazing to see how captivated the Residents were, especially Maud!”

Animal therapy has proven to be hugely beneficial in care homes and Residents look forward to their next encounter!
