Residents at HC-One’s
Greenways Court, 51-bed residential and residential dementia care home, in Consett, County Durham wanted to get in the Christmas spirt since the festive period is just around the corner.
Nothing says Christmas like a trip to the local garden centre. Jean Burrows, Margaret Graham, Maureen Urwin and Catherine Kirkley wanted to go to the garden centre for a look at all the Christmas decorations.
Lanchester Garden Centre is a favourite for some of the Residents, so Jean suggested the ladies went there.
There were numerous giggles as the ladies thought the wreath would make a good prop for photos. The ladies of course had to try it and the pictures looked fantastic. They then hung baubles on their ears to look like earrings. The ladies giggled the whole way around the garden centre.
Jean, commented, “We might get put out the garden centre for laughing too much!”
The ladies had a lovely afternoon out and said they would like to come back soon to get decorations for their rooms.
Margaret, said, “I have really enjoyed my day out. Thank you for everyone who came with us, it was great.”
Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Getting in the Christmas spirit at the garden centre is great. The ladies had a lovely day out.”
