A spot of gardening in the sunshine at Willow CourtThe same as many HC-One homes, raised planting beds have been erected in gardens so that Residents can take part in gardening activities, and this was no different for Residents at Willow Court care home, in Cherry Willingham, as they have been preparing this summer to grow some plants.

Residents at the residential and residential dementia care home have been planting a variety of different flowers, herbs and vegetables including lupin (a flowering plant), lavender, rosemary and lettuce! See pictured Peter Compton, Jeanette Fisken and Beatrice Dennis.

Everyone loved relishing the opportunity of nice sunny weather and being out enjoying the home’s garden again. One of the residents commented, “It was lovely to be out in the sunshine!”

All agreed that they would like the kitchen team to use the rosemary to roast potatoes, therefore the home’s Chef is going to whip something delicious up for everyone to try.

Jo Keenan, Care Home Manager, said, “It is lovely to see and hear of the Residents enjoying the raised beds we have at Willow Court.”
