A shopping spree for Greenways Court ResidentsResidents at Greenways Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in Consett, fancied a trip to the local shopping centre for some well needed retail therapy.

May, Maureen, Mary and Catherine, needed some retail therapy and the only place they wanted to go was the Metro Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in the UK.

It was such a great day out, looking around all the shops and picking up supplies each of the Residents needed. It has been a while for some of the Residents since they have been out shopping so they all really enjoyed it. Catherine, said, “It is great to be out shopping again.”

After finishing off the shopping, the ladies had a lovely lunch at M&S Café, and of course finished off with a lovely slice of cake.

While shopping the ladies came across a lovely puppy who was being trained for people with a loss of hearing. They were so interested in the training of the puppy and wanted to bring it home with them.

The ladies had a lovely morning out, May, commented, “It is nice to get out and do my own banking and shopping again.”

Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, remarked, “The Metro Centre is always a great trip out, the ladies really loved shopping again.”
