A poignant gesture from one friend to another
Berry Hill Park Resident Jean Lowe made Remembrance Sunday extra special for another Resident by presenting her with a beautiful poppy brooch that she had knitted.

Joyce Redfern was overwhelmed at the kind gesture. Joyce's husband was a prisoner of war and when he returned to his wife, he weighed just four stone. Joyce described his as coming home as a shadow of the man who went to war.

Joyce remembers caring for him, feeding him small amounts and nursing him slowly back to full health.
This lovely gesture from Jean meant so much to Joyce and is a true act of kindness.
