Everyone at Dudley’s care home, Himley Mill, have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks with an array of activities and special themed days which weren’t to be missed.
On 14th September, Colleagues decorated the outdoor garden area to replicate a typical British seaside – there were mocktails, traditional fish and chips (which the Residents thoroughly enjoyed), the classic ‘Summer Holiday’ film as well as activities and music. One Resident commented, “It’s like Himley-on-Sea!”
The following week, a cake day was organised by the activity Colleagues at the home with a cake competition, raffle and plenty of games.
“I love the homemade cake,” another Resident had said.
Harvest Festival has also got into full swing at the home with Residents making the annual autumn display as well as scarecrows and baking bread together. Colleagues enjoy taking Residents on autumn walks.
Home Manager, Kelly Smith, remarked, “What a truly fun day we had for the beach party – everyone really enjoyed putting their toes in the sand.”
“The cake day was great, I loved Jane’s (Colleague) cakes, they tasted great!”
“Our Harvest activities have really got us into the autumn spirit and lovely to see Residents’ creative sides.”
