A magical Christmas time at Harnham CroftResidents at Harnham Croft care home, in Salisbury, have been getting in the Christmas spirit by taking part in lots of fun activities including a choir service, pantomime, party and even getting musical with the donation of a piano!

In the lead up to Christmas, Colleagues helped to organise a pantomime of ‘Aladdin’, which was performed by a group called Tickled Pink. There has been an array of other activities including making mince pies and a gingerbread house, creating Christmas decorations in the regular arts and crafts classes, practicing carols with the choir and a service from the local church, and to top it off… a Residents’ Christmas party with singing from entertainer Dave Dawson.

With the support of the home’s amazing care Colleagues, Christmas day at Harnham Croft was one to remember. The Residents all got ready for the day ahead; some opening presents in the morning with family members who visited, while others chose to have a relaxing day and enjoy a lovely Christmas dinner with a glass or two of bubbly in the homes dining room listening to some joyful Christmas music whilst pulling crackers and telling Christmas jokes.

Resident Lynn said, “I was offered a glass of prosecco with my Christmas dinner, and I didn’t think I liked prosecco but after trying it, I thoroughly enjoyed it.”

The afternoon was finished off with a Christmas film, Residents and Colleagues have had a wonderful time together celebrating.

Much to the delight of many Residents, a piano has been donated to the home by a lady in the local community this December, and Harnham Croft would like to thank to Kevin and Will for collecting it. Eileen, who lives at the 38-bed residential and nursing care home, commented, “I love that we now have a Piano, this has made my Christmas. I haven't played the piano for years, but I will sure use it now!” It has certainly brought a lot of joy to Residents this festive season.

Emily, who is a Care Assistant, remarked, “It was good to see the Residents smiling. All Residents have expressed they have had a lovely Christmas with all the Colleagues at Harnham Croft, and the meal was delicious!”

Jim Bowie, Home Manager said, “It has been a great lead up to Christmas and the Residents are feeling very festive. It has been lovely watching the Residents enjoy themselves and all the festivities.”
