A Kirkby House beach partyResidents and staff at Knowsley’s Kirkby House residential dementia care home took part in a wonderful beach themed day, enjoying many activities such as playing sand castles, enjoying ice-cream Sundays and sipping some cocktails.

Colleagues provided candyfloss and Residents played hook-a-duck in the paddling pool. They also carried on the seaside theme with fish and chips in baskets, which everyone loved. One of the Residents said, “It was like we were back at the beach. ‘the good old days’!”

Residents enjoyed the tropical music played and danced to the tunes ‘Club Tropicana and ‘Yellow Polka Dot Bikini’.

“I do like to be beside the seaside,” was a repeating saying by the Residents throughout the day which was lovely for everyone to hear.

Tracey Conlin, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was lovely to see the Residents enjoying themselves so much. What an absolutely fantastic day at the seaside!”
